Awake -Secondhand Serenade

A belated post for the belated birthday boy. Raudha, Sebastian, Shafiq and me celebrated Alvin's belated birthday on the 10th. It was a surprise that nearly never happened, but I was glad it went somewhat according to plan eventually.


Raudha and me met up first at Jurong Point to buy a small cake at...
The wonderful thing about this shop is that they let you, the customer, to personalise your designs on your cake. Since we're short on cash, we bought a 4'' cake that costs $11. Considered cheap as compared to other pastry shops that we went to.
And here's the masterpiece!
The initial plan was that I was supposed to meet Alvin, by myself. And there wasn't any reason why I should be meetin him. And the weird thing is he didn't ask why I wanted to meet him.


And I (we) was running late in meeting him. Raudha and me rushed to Popular to buy a small vanguard(?) sheet so that we could make a card. I was surprised when Raudha told me she brought colouring materials in her small bag of hers.


We started creating the card in the train, with limited time travelling to Jurong East station. And Shafiq and Sebastian were already there, spying on Alvin. And Sebastian told me me that both of them even happen to walk past him unknowingly.


Shafiq: That was Alvin right?*looking back*


Sebastian: *looking back* Omg ya wtf!


I called Sebastian to call them to meet in front of the ATM machine where there is a bench. There, we wrote our wishes on the card, trying to fill up as much space as we could.


After that Raudha and me met Alvin. Raudha came up with the excuse that she has to go to her auntie's house. Well, he bought it. And Alvin wanted to eat lunch, so I lead the way to the hawker centre, with Sebastian and Shafiq trailing behind us the whole time, trying not to be spotted.


And all the while while Alvin were having his lunch, Raudha and me kept him busy, while Sebastian and Shafiq went to another coffeeshop and do what they do when they are at the coffeeshop. Haha.


Fast Forward>>


The meeting place was outside the Red Man place, where it sells the bakery stuffs and whatnot. Shafiq and Sebastian prepared the cake by lighting the candle. Raudha and me brought Alvin to the lifts where behind it, Sebastian was holding the cake.


Alvin got a shock, the happy kind of shock when we started singing the (belated) birthday song, with the cake presented in front of him.


Look at his chubby smiling face. It's !@#$%^ rare that you see him smile this wide. And i'm happy that the cause of it was us. Haha.
